Principal

Margarita R. Solis concentrates her practice on the formation, operation and maintenance of business entities, trademarks registration and all post-registration maintenance and recordation of assignments.  Mr. Solis  also handles all aspects of business and commercial transactions.

Born in Barranquilla City, Republic of Colombia, Ms. Solis immigrated to the United States in 1984.  While in Colombia, Ms. Solis earned her Juris Doctorate from Rosario University in 1979, and her Master in Financial Law in 1980. Ms. Solis is admitted to practice law in the Republic of Colombia.  In the United States, Ms. Solis attended the University of San Diego and graduated from its Lawyer's Assistant Program in 1987.  She worked as a legal assistant for Guevara, Phippard & James, Professional Corporation for more than 19 years in the areas of corporate law and trademark before she was admitted to practice law in California in 2007.  She continue to work with Guevara, Phippard & James as an Associate Attorney until 2012 when she set off to establish her own practice.

Because Ms. Solis is bicultural and fluent in Spanish, she represents clients interested  in U.S. - Mexico business transactions, and acts as liaison with Mexican counsel to expedite and coordinate services in Mexico.  Ms. Solis has established corresponding relationships with law firms in Mexico and other jurisdictions.

Ms. Solis is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of California and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.   In addition, she is a member of the California State Bar and the San Diego County Bar Association.

Ms. Solis is fluent in English and Spanish.
